Millions & Millions of years ago the earth had many unique factors that caused all of the wonderful Gemstones & Minerals to form that we know and love today! With that said... Let's take a quick little journey into the life of a gemstone/mineral. Hundreds of years ago our ancestors had a thought. Dig in the ground to find something. We're sure they had no idea the extent that we would be able to find today. But the truth is we are far from our potential of understanding where these all form and that we can guarantee that when we dig we will find exactly the gemstone or mineral we are looking for. It takes many dedicated people to work as a team to find these gemstones & Minerals.
Some mines have modern technology and some simply are just using a good old pickax and the river to search through the spoils to see what they find. Either option can be very effective or very costly. You aren't guaranteed to find anything again but you won't know unless you try. Once the miners find a gemstone it truly is rarer than any of the common Minerals, you can't just simply pull it out of the ground and then put it directly into a piece of jewelry. There is a more in-depth process that takes place. You must have the stone hand-cut and faceted to show the inner beauty that is waiting to be discovered. You may think that this is such an easy task when dealing with natural gemstones because we are so used to modern society that we can just hit a button and pump out lab-grown gemstones and have machines mold and cut them. (Quarter machine rings & Costume Jewelry)

When dealing with a natural gemstone you have that key factor RARE. No two will ever truly be alike. Some have inclusions that make the stone more valuable like having another gemstone growing inside the first one! You have to have a trained expert to truly look at the gemstone crystal and know what inclusions to avoid to make sure the stone is not broken, isn't showing lots of bad inclusions or bringing out natural inclusions that can add value, and above all has to show maximum color. All done by our skilled experts by hand and sight. Once you get through the many long hours and have the faceted gemstone you may think that's the point it then gets set into jewelry. Some very very expensive ones do. Because that means they can skip the next step that is more common on the market today thanks to technology advances and some unique thoughts that may not be the best solution but they are available. You get into gemstone treatments or enhancements that will alter the gemstone to give it more of a flawless factor, more intense color, or even changing the gemstone to a different color. You can look at this like painting over a wall with a fresh coat of paint. Some are good and some are bad but that's why we are here to help educate and share the knowledge behind them.

If you see a Gemstone on our website its because we know it's Natural and we will state if any treatments were done. We know everyone wants a truly clean stone. The reason that isn't possible to have for everyone on the planet is like humans, the earth isn't perfect. Each gem is formed uniquely and cut uniquely. Some stones can even be re-cut to show more beauty. The cleaner the stone the more valuable. Once you get your finished stone you then get to set it into precious metals that then make the jewelry.
